Legally Blonde – Hollwyood Does It Again

Don’t you love the way Hollywood treats lawyers and the courtoom? Whether its Emilio Estevez kidding around with the judge in The Mighty Ducks, or melodramatic courtroom dramas replete with emotion charged speeches, Hollywood treats the courtoom as a stage for a broadway show.

I’d been convinced that the Reese Witherspoon starrer Legally Blonde was not worth the two hours of my time. Its an old, outdated movie now anyways. But a female friend, after much coaxing and convincing, forced me to watch it with her last night. She’d been a fan of Witherspoon’s character for decades and wanted to watch it once more.

Well, what can I say! It was another dumb movie that tied into the legal field somehow, and stopped short of making outright fun of the law profession. If I were to go according to Legally Blonde the movie, I would be convinced that:

a) All lawyers are idiots
b) All lawyers are law nerds
c) All lawyers don’t have a life outside the courtroom
d) That wearing pink wins over the jury in no time

That’s all BS, of course. Legally Blonde is just another movie in a string of Hollywood movies that take the profession of law with utter disregard to further some idiotic romantic comedy movie plot. I just wonder when Hollywood will learn not to make movies for peopel with subpar IQs.
